As beautiful as it is I am disturbed (but not surprised) by the lights. It says a lot that the stamp of mankind is so visible from space. I have done quite a bit of travelling in the past couple of years (travel itself isn’t great for our planet I know) and it has become more and more apparent to me that we have screwed our planet beyond repair. Sad stuff.

I showed this to my kids (6 & 4) who thought it was boring until they started looking for the North Pole – then they got so into it I had to replay it in case they missed Santa’s house the first time!

So peaceful – makes me feel that we are such a small part of the picture. It also has a very calming effect, I felt quite rested and trouble free after watching this (video meditation perhaps?)

I twittered this link to mamamia this morning, glad you liked it enough to share. If you scroll down under the video it gives you the geological reference for each scene. The last one is going over China and I think that long line of lights is the great wall.
I am not tech dumb and I am embarrassed to keep asking this but can a user or a staff member please explain to me how to access the videos on mamamia, I can not locate this one here nor the dogs welcoming home veterans. Have tried the video link, the you tube link, as far as I can see there is no where to click on this page to access the video, please, soz, but can someone point out the bleedin obvious!

I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘access’ the videos? I know sometimes videos don’t show up in the post for people, is that what you mean? Because that’s likely an issue with individual browsers…
