In 2016, Tom Hiddleston ’s name was everywhere.

The actor had just starred in acclaimed British spy drama,The Night Manager, and was romantically linked with Taylor Swift. Media outlets had a field day reporting on the unlikely coupling of a Cambridge University educated Brit and an American music superstar. Even though the three-month ‘Hiddleswift’ romance was ill-fated, the memories of THAT ‘I HEART TS’ t-shirt will be burnt into our brains forever.

Following his break-up from Swift, it would appear as if Hiddleston flew too close to the sun and has subsequently shied away from the very public spotlight.

“Everyone is entitled to a private life,” he said in an interview withThe Telegraphin 2017. “I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment, and in my mind I don’t conflict the two.”

He doubled down on that sentiment when chatting toThe New York Timesin 2019 when he said: “I’m protective about my internal world now in probably a different way. That’s because I didn’t realise it needed protecting before.”

With a newfound appreciation for keeping things private, theThoractor embarked on a much more low-profile relationship with actress Zawe Ashton. Hiddleston met Ashton while they were co-starring in a play called Betrayal which was performed in both London and New York in 2019. The pair fell in love and ever since have kept their heart cards close to their chests. They will often pop up on red carpets together but details of their romance remain brief.

In 2022 it was rumoured that Hiddleston and Ashton had become engaged and it was confirmed by Tom in June of that year when he coyly toldLos Angeles Timesreporters “I’m very happy,” in response to queries about his engagement.

In October of 2022,Us Weeklyreported that the pair had welcomed their first child together.

According to a source "Tom and Zawe are loving being new parents and are filled with joy," they said. "They have been having the struggles of new parents and aren’t sleeping much but are thrilled."

These exciting developments in Hiddleston’s life come after he has enjoyed plenty of success throughout his career in Hollywood. In the early 2000’s the young actor cut his teeth starring in a number of British TV drama series. His break into the big leagues came when he was cast as Loki in the 2011 Marvel movieThoralongside Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth. He has since gone from strength to strength with a wide variety of roles under his belt including blockbusters likeThe Avengersand critically acclaimed turns in the likes of 2016 TV mini-series,The Night Manager.

While Tom may live his life away from the spotlight these days, his career continues to boom. With a beautiful fiance, a new baby and bustling career in Hollywood, Hiddleston has finally found a way to do it all, on his terms.
