I was listening to a recent episode of Tried and Tested (which airs weekly on Wednesdays, hosted by Em and Erin), when I had a serious flashback to a time in my career when a particular type of mascara was all anyone was talking about.

On the episode, Erin was talking about the adventure she had trialling a viral hack that is meant to make your eyelashes look impressively longer. It sounded as though it worked, but frankly, it involved waaaay too many steps for me.

Hearing her chatting about the hack, I immediately thought about fibre mascaras and how they're not talked about much anymore. It seems tubular formulas have stolen the spotlight, but fibre mascaras walked so tubular ones could run.

If you're not familiar, these types of mascaras contain teeny fibres within the formula that act like tiny extensions for each and every hair. They attach to the lashes as you apply the mascara, making them look longer (and thicker) once the coats have dried.

While the application is the same as a traditional or tubular mascara, it can take a little practice to make sure the end result doesn't look messy. It's worth it though, because the payoff is lashes that truly do look like they grew overnight.
