What I Put On My Face is Mamamia’s new celebrity beauty series that goes inside the beauty cabinets of some of Australia’s most influential women. From what skincare products they use to their go-to makeup tips, it’s a pervy look at exactly what they put on their face. And body. And hair. You get the idea.
This week, we speak to Jackie O. Fresh off finishing up her The Masked Singer Australia hosting duties and announcing a huge pay rise for her work co-hosting KIIS FM’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show, Jackie shares what it’s like getting ready every day with those 3am starts. From the skincare tips she picked up from her Masked Singer makeup artist to how having skin cancers removed has changed her routine, here’s exactly which products she uses and loves. Enjoy!
Side note: learn how to do a glam bronze smokey eye shadow look below. Post continues after video.

I have a fairly normal skin type. It seems to love hydrating products to give it a glow, but I never find it dry or dehydrated. I drink a lot of water each day, which I think helps! My skincare routine is as low-fuss as possible, I don’t have much time in the morning, especially when I’m up and out the door at 4:30am.
I’m a big believer in not overloading your skin with too many products. I like to keep it simple – that approach has always worked for me. I use the same products morning and night, the only difference is making sure all makeup is removed at night.
In the morning, I cleanse and moisturise, and apply a Neutrogena sunscreen! As I get older, I’ve realised how important it is to protect your skin from the sun. I’ve had to have a few skin cancers removed over the last few years, and I’m now conscious that both my daughter, Kitty, and I need to protect our skin.
At night, I take off makeup – my makeup artist got me onto the Sante by Enjo makeup removing discs while we were filmingThe Masked Singer. You just use water and they give a great cleanse as well as exfoliate. And they’re reusable, so they’re much better for the environment. Then, I put on some Aesop Damascan Rose Facial Treatment and Aesop Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream. That’s it! One of my best friends got me onto the combination of this serum and cream, and I just love it! I use it both morning and night.
A good recommendation I got onto recently too is Wrinkles Schminkles, they have a great range of masks. My skin was so dehydrated one day on set forThe Masked Singer(I think living on coffee and Red Bull with no rest or recovery during that crazy schedule was starting to take a toll to me) and those masks brought my skin back to life overnight – it was so soft the next day, which made it so much easier for makeup to glide on.

Jackie O's makeup routine.
I love nothing more than being at home makeup-free these days. I think when I was younger, I was a little more interested in finding out what all the new and exciting products were and experimenting with them, but I’ve now found my favourites and just stick to them (otherwise the bathroom ends up looking like a Sephora warehouse and it drives me crazy).
I use makeup artist Max May ( @maxmade) for any events or TV work – he’s the best. If I'm doing my own makeup, I apply my foundation with a makeup brush, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is my go-to. I’ve used it for many years and I'm completely loyal to this product. I touch up with a small amount of concealer under my eyes and top it with some Chantecaille powder (in Camel).
I then use a little bit of Chantecaille blush (in Emotion) and Melissa Sassine bronzer for some contouring - my favourite bronzer by Makeup Forever was recently discontinued and I really struggled for a while to replace it with something as good, but I've just started using this one and I love it.
I thicken up my brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz from Sephora, and if I'm doing eye shadow, I love the Urban Decay Naked3 eyeshadow palette, which is fairly nude. Then it’s mascara and eyeliner (I’ll use any black eyeliner pencil – I have no loyalty here).
Max introduced me to Nude by Nature lipsticks and I’ve become a huge fan of their palette. My favourite colour is Pale Coral. I use Nivea Hydro Care lip balm every day. I have this routine down pat now and it only takes me about 15 minutes.
