I sat down with all five of this year's farmers — Alex, Dylan, Jason, Jarrad, and Zac —and they spilled some serious tea about the absolute chaos, emotional blindsides, and game-changing twists heading for the farms.

From un-aired anxiety attacks to a complete switch-up in the final rounds, the 2026 farmers just made one thing very clear: we're in for a wild ride this season.

What didn't make it to the premiere of FWAW?

While viewers watched the boys charm their ladies in the establishing episodes, as it turns out, TV editing can hide a lot of panic.

24-year-old Dylan gave us the inside scoop on his first-day jitters, revealing that a pivotal moment on screen was actually the result of a near-medical emergency.

"I couldn't talk, haha," Dylan confessed. "After watching that first episode, they actually cut a lot. When I walk out to [host] Nat, and she pats me on the back, it's because I had a little bit of an anxiety attack being in that room. When I first met all the girls, I was so nervous... I was rattled. Even watching it back, I was like, man, I forgot all about how scared I was."

Farmer Alex also noted that the intense pressure of the format was a total shock to the system. "[I was] mostly overwhelmed and yeah, it was tough," he shared.

"All of them were more attractive than their bios, like better looking in person. So it was all a bit of a shock at once."

There are some huge twists heading for our farmers.

Now that the women are officially settled onto the actual properties, the real shifts are about to begin.

Multiple farmers revealed that the intense nature of the experiment forced them into massive, unexpected changes regarding what they thought they wanted in a life partner.

Alex admits he underwent a total perspective shift during filming, completely rewriting his usual dating playbook.

"I went on with a pretty good idea of what I was looking for in a partner and the things I was prioritising, and I came out of the experience having sort of done a complete U-turn on those things," he revealed.

"I based my decisions on different elements of a partner on the show than I have previously in every other relationship before the experience of FWAW."

Zac also echoed the sentiment, explaining that the deeper emotional stakes caught him off guard. "I thought I knew, somewhat, what I'd love in a partner, but, it probably did change what I was drawn to."

He elaborated, "My biggest thing was I wanted to feel natural, and to have lots of fun... but then I found out that when it comes to feelings and emotions, it does get a lot deeper, and I do value those qualities."

For almond farmer Jarrad, the "game-changing" aspect came from how quickly the women evolved once the initial honeymoon phase wore off.

"There were definitely a few twists and turns for me," he warned.

"And I guess you get to know someone, and you think you know what they're like, but then you see a different side to them as time goes on. You kind of navigate through, and think a connection with a girl is going in a certain direction, and then there seems to be a twist, and then something else happens."

Interesting…

Expect massive blindsides and epic farm drama.

So, which farm is harbouring the most explosive drama this year? If you ask the blokes, they're all pointing fingers at each other, but Dylan admits his own backyard gets pretty hectic.

"Yeah, as it goes on, I was quite proud of not having the drama farm… until it slipped," he teased.

"My world got rattled. It's gonna be interesting. I was sitting down, trying to remember, and I was like, 'Oh, yeah, it's going to get wild at my farm.' As [the season] goes on, it does get a bit Western."

Alex tried his best to maintain order on his property, but even the self-professed peacemaker couldn't escape the chaos.

"To be honest, it was more dramatic on my farm than I thought it was gonna be," Alex says, before adding with a laugh, "But who knows how they edit it? Maybe I'll get the villain edit. I don't know. I hope not."

According to Alex, however, the real title of Drama Farm belongs elsewhere: "Farmer Zac definitely had a more dramatic overall time than I did."

And Zac didn't deny the claim, confessing that his aversion to conflict made the intense process a living nightmare.

"I tried to stay out of the drama because I hate that side of things, but, yes, I think I did get caught up in it," he admitted. "No one can really prepare for what will happen on this show... I'm horrible at making tough calls and letting people down. There definitely were some absolute U-turn moments."

Meanwhile, Jason stated that his farm has already delivered some cinema — including the shocking fainting incident — hinting at more chaos to come. Viewers saw on Sunday night how the drama included one contestant backing out and another threatening to quit.

He explained, "I think there are a couple of dramatic moments. I suppose the whole fainting thing was something dramatic. But yeah, there'd be a couple of others. I had a bit of a different experience on the show, which you'll see as we watch on."

How does the FWAW finale come to an end?

With the season now rolling out, the men are feeling a heavy combination of nerves, excitement, and lingering emotion as they prepare to watch their endings play out in front of the entire country.

"I've got mixed emotions," Jarrad says of watching it back. "Reliving it is tough at times. It turns out it goes really quickly... it was definitely something that I underestimated going into, how tough it was gonna be."

Zac agrees, warning fans that the emotional intensity is only going to ramp up from here.

"So many great memories and definitely some harder ones as well. As the series goes on, it's only bound to get more and more intense," he said.

When I asked the farmers to describe the finale of their love journeys in just a single word, the group painted a picture of absolute high-stakes television.

Jarrad promises a complete "whirlwind," while Zac warns fans to brace for a total "roller-coaster" of an ending. As for Alex? His finale comes down to one word: "unexpected."

But despite the impending chaos, the boys promise that the undeniable heart of the show remains completely intact.

Buckle up, ladies. It sounds like the reality TV ride of a lifetime is just getting started!
