The Stan Original Series Critical Incident is a crime drama that will soon be on your screens.

Cancel your August plans, friends! Stan is about to drop a new binge-worthy crime series that'll have you glued to your screens.

Get ready for the Stan Original Series Critical Incident, which is set to premiere on August 12, right after we've all recovered from our Olympic Games Paris 2024 hangover. And the best part? All episodes will be available at once, so you can kiss your social life goodbye for a weekend!

This isn't your run-of-the-mill crime drama either. Creator Sarah Bassiuoni (from The Secrets She Keeps) has drawn from her real-life experiences as a lawyer in Western Sydney's juvenile justice system to bring us a gripping psychological thriller. 

The story follows senior constable Zilifcar 'Zil' Ahmed, played by Akshay Khanna, who finds himself in hot water when a routine patrol goes horribly wrong, leaving an innocent bystander critically injured and his world turned upside down when he discovers his suspect, Dalia (played by Zoë Boe) was not the perpetrator.

Zil has to confront his guilt over the bystander’s injuries while withstanding the pressure of the investigation into the incident, which leads to him developing an obsession with pinning something on Dalia.

The cast is packed with Aussie talent like Hunter Page-Lochard, Erik Thomson, Roxie Mohebbi, Jai Waetford, Zindzi Okenyo, Jackson Heywood and Simone Kessell fresh from her breakout performance in Yellowjackets.

Filmed right in the heart of Western Sydney, Critical Incident promises to serve up an authentic slice of suburban life by showcasing areas like Blacktown, Granville, Parramatta and Greenacre. 

Critical Incident is directed by Heartbreak High's Neil Sharma and Line Of Duty's Daniel Nettheim, it was created and written by Sarah Bassiuoni alongside writers Ruth Underwood, Hannah Fitzpatrick and Natasha Henry.

The series is produced by Bree-Anne Sykes with executive producers Sheila Jayadev and Debbie Lee for Matchbox Pictures, and Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie for Stan. Major production investment comes from Screen Australia with financial support from Screen NSW and produced by Matchbox Pictures in association with All3Media.
