By now it's pretty clear that chocolate brown has taken over as the colour of the season.
While other buzzy shades like butter yellow and cherry red aren't everyone's cup of tea, it's safe to say that chocolate (or "espresso", if that's more to your taste) is universally wearable. It works for every element of your wardrobe, from casual pieces to activewear, corporate styles and eveningwear.

It's also infiltrated the accessory market with the massive trend for brown suede handbags, sneakers and loafers.
And while the colour gives off a luxury vibe, it's refreshingly accessible. You really don't have to spend much to tap into the look.
Case in point: while browsing at Kmart the other day, I came across a style I knew would be a staple in my winter wardrobe — and it looked way more expensive than its $25 price tag.

The Kmart Long Sleeve Corduroy Shirt is the perfect layering piece. It works as an oversized shirt, or undone as a lightweight shacket. The cord finish also brings some texture to your outfit, doing the same job as suede (without the splurge.)
I sized up in the shirt for an oversized fit, and I've been wearing it constantly.
When I posted a snap wearing the shirt to my Instagram stories without tagging the brand, I was inundated with dm's and comments. Everyone who asked was delighted when I shared the details. (If you're wondering, it also comes in a bunch of other trending colours like stone, seafoam and rose pink.)
Personal shopper Fifi Milne has been posting about her love for chocolate brown styles lately, sharing her favourite finds on her Instagram feed - including her go-to brown barrel jeans and a luxe coat she nabbed on sale.
Stylist and Mamamia contributor Emelia Morris also shared how she's styling the shade in a recent reel.
For me, the colour is fast becoming an addiction. My brown suede handbag from affordable Australian accessories brand Vestirsi barely leaves my side these days, and a chocolate blazer snagged at Target has been on heavy rotation.

I've found 8 more pieces under $100 to get your espresso fix.
