"We were terrified." Married at First Sight’s Zoe opens up about her recent pregnancy scare.

With just weeks to go until they become parents for the first time, Married at First Sight couple Zoe Hendrix and Alex Garner have opened up about their most terrifying pregnancy moment overnight.

Posting to Instagram on Monday night, Hendrix wrote “BUBS SWEET HEART BEAT. By far my favourite sound in the world,” alongside an image of her in a hospital room.

"This pic is from a few days ago when we had a scare and went in for monitoring," Hendrix said, explaining, "I had dramatically lessened movement from baby and after trying the hot shower/cold drink which always worked but didn't, we decided to go in for monitoring. We were terrified."

Announcing the pregnancy in May, Hendrix said the pair – who were the only couple to survive from season one of the experimental Channel 9 show – were “over the moon” about expanding their family.

"Everything is fine," Hendrix's post continued, adding "but I wanted to share and say to all other mums and dads out their, don't hesitate to call your hospital and get monitoring. Listen to your body and follow your instinct. I don't like a fuss, but Iv [sic] learnt that lesson. Baby comes first."

The upcoming arrival comes following a devastating miscarriage last year.

Speaking to Mamamia at the time, Hendrix said, "Some women when they've had a miscarriage and go on to have another pregnancy, they were petrified right up until the birth because you just never know.

"It’s the unknown, the unexplainable. It can happen for no reason," she said at the time.

But with a happy and healthy baby on board, the mum-to-be then signed off, "Maybe our journey as mothers starts way before the birth."

But with everything looking healthy and happy, it seems the couple won't be waiting long to meet finally meet Baby Garner.
