Amazon Prime Video is set to gift us a new TV show and it comes in the form of an eerie, dystopian series based on the best-selling novel by William Gibson.

It's calledThe Peripheraland it's the next apocalyptic thriller you'll want to add to your watch list.

What isThe Peripheralabout?

The dystopian sci-fi series explores two separate periods of the future - one in a not-so-distant future and another in the early 22nd century where the world is struggling after an apocalyptic event takes place.

Flynn (Chloë Grace Moretz), who is the main character inThe Peripheral,is struggling to keep her family together. She may be witty, brilliant and ambitious, but she is also doomed - because her future is naught.

After she takes on her own brother's security job in what they both believe is cyberspace, Flynn soon discovers something that could possibly change her future forever.

Wilf (Gary Carr) is the other main character in the series, and he lives in the 22nd century.
