If you've been anywhere near social media lately, Sydney Sweeney's face has been unavoidable. 

It all started with a very controversial Euphoria scene that aired earlier in the week. People are still trying to wrap their heads around the moment where Cassie appears in a "sexy baby" outfit — we're talking a diaper, a massive hair bow, and a pacifier — posing suggestively for a photo shoot for her OnlyFans.

I know… yikes. 

It was one of those moments that immediately broke the internet, mostly because nobody knew how to react. The online discourse quickly spiralled into a mess of people arguing about whether it was meant to be a dark commentary on sex work or just another instance of the show trying too hard to be edgy and oversexualising the women in it.

Either way, it put Sweeney at the centre of a very loud, very awkward conversation. 

But now, things have gone from bad to worse for her. Sweeney has officially been cut from the most highly anticipated movie of 2026: The Devil Wears Prada 2.

I mean, she just can't catch a break.

Last year, everyone was hyped when Sweeney was first spotted on set, with fans assuming she was a new character or a fresh rival for Miranda Priestly. As it turns out, she actually filmed a three-minute cameo playing herself. 

The scene was supposed to help re-introduce Emily Blunt's character, Emily Charlton, who is now a high-powered fashion executive. The vibe was Sweeney playing a difficult celebrity client being handled by Emily.

But now, according to Entertainment Weekly, the whole thing has been tossed out. Apparently, despite it being a difficult decision, the scene just didn't fit the tone of the opening, so it ended up on the cutting room floor.

It's a pretty brutal run of events. One day you're trending for wearing a lace-trimmed diaper, and the next, you're losing a spot in the biggest fashion sequel ever made. I don't know what's worse. 

Being cut from a movie after the paparazzi already caught you filming is always a bit embarrassing, but having it happen while everyone is already dissecting your most controversial TV scene is just, well… very bad timing. 

Sweeney is obviously fine — she has a dozen other movies in the works — but even for an A-lister, this week has been a lot to deal with.
