Rumours of the 31-year-old’s impending nuptials to the multi-millionaire property developer have been circulating since April this year, after The Sun reported that Mozzi had moved into Princess Beatrice’s royal residence at St James’s Palace.

In her post, Princess Eugenie, 29 congratulated the couple, writing that it was “meant to be”.

“Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo,” she wrote.

“It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.”

Although Princess Beatrice doesn’t have a public Instagram, the ninth in line to the British throne shared a message through her sister’s post, which also featured two photos of her and Mozzi, 35, as well as a close up of her stunning engagement ring.

“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married,” she read.

“We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Princess Beatrice met Mozzi through mutual friends in November 2018, after her decade-long relationship with Dave Clark ended in 2016. Mozzi has been a friend of the York family for years, after his stepfather Christopher Shale (a close friend of former British Prime Minister David Cameron) died in 2011, and they all met at the funeral.

He’s also the CEO of Banda (meaning “big shed” in Swahili), which he founded in 2007, and a divorced father-of-two – meaning Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York could also be adding ‘step-mum’ to her title. Fun fact: He's also a descendant of Italian nobility, and is officially a Count.

The groom-to-be has also shared his own tribute to his new fiance, posting a series of black and white photos to his personal Instagram @edomapellimizzo.

"You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever," he wrote.
