Why we're about to see a lot less of Prince Harry and Prince William together.

Prince William and Prince Harry have always portrayed a united front. As brothers, each other’s closest friends, and biggest sources of support.

But now we may be seeing a lot less of the brothers together as they’re considering a formal division of their joint royal household at Kensington Palace.

“Noooo”, we hear you yell.

But don’t worry – it’s not as dramatic as it sounds.

The Sunday Times’ royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah exclusively reported that the princes are looking to create two separate courts as their future roles with their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle continue to change.

Nikkhah said William and Harry’s double act has naturally been replaced by the two couples and their families. Also, when Meghan Markle gives birth to her and Harry’s royal baby next year, the trio may move out of their Nottingham Cottage home next to Wills and Kate’s residence on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

The Times reported a royal source as saying: “The brothers have leant on each other and looked after each other since their mother died. But now they have their own families, they no longer rely on each other as before.”

This could mean we’ll see less of them together in public as they focus on their own families and their different roles as royals.

Prince William will become the Prince of Wales when Prince Charles becomes King. The Prince of Wales title comes with a lot of extra responsibility – including overseeing the Duchy of Cornwall, which currently gives the brothers and their wives their annual spending money.

Splitting William and Harry’s courts before this happens is likely to make things less complicated.

We’ll likely continue to see Prince William and Kate continue to attend very formal events, as William is directly in line to the throne.

Harry and Meghan are already forging their own path and are happy being less conservative than William and Kate are required to be. As Harry is further down the line of succession, the couple have more flexibility and freedom.

The source told the Times the changes wanted by William and Harry make sense.

“They have become different people with different outlooks on life. Splitting the household is the obvious thing to do.”

William and Harry have always been best friends, there for each other no matter what. Nothing can split up the dream team.
