Harry and Meghan’s Aussie tour may be over, but for The Royal Family, everything has changed. Mia Freedman, Holly Wainwright and Em Vernem are back in the studio together to unpack the week that took a hammer to a long-held Royal agreement.
Remember when the late Queen Elizabeth told Harry and Meghan that a hybrid Royal life was impossible? That they were either in or they were out? It was a rule made at a meeting called The Sandringham Summit, and Harry told us all about it in his book, Spare.
Well, last week in Australia, it became crystal-clear that the Sussexes are not playing by those rules any more, and they’re certainly not asking for permission. They’re officially living ‘Option 3’ - a life that’s half-royal, half-celebrity, and it’s blown the agreement made at the 2020 Sandringham Summit to bits.
So are we cheering for their rebellious middle finger to the establishment, or are we finger-wagging at them having their cake and eating it too? And what’s that sound coming from London, where doubtless William and Charles have been watching the coverage of 'The Spare’s' Aussie tour through their furious fingers?
