Gwyneth Paltrow shares why ex husband Chris Martin joined her honeymoon with Brad Falchuk

In 2014, Gwyneth Paltrow announced the end of her relationship with her husband Chris Martin.

But the famous couple did not break up.

Instead, according to the actress’ statement on her website Goop, the pair simply ‘consciously uncoupled‘.

Ever since, the former couple have remained friends, taking charge of the news cycle by constantly sharing positive updates on their amicable, co-parent relationship.

Most recently, Gwyneth shared that her ex-husband actually came along on her honeymoon alongside her new husband Brad Falchuk.

Speaking to Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest on Live with Kelly and Ryan yesterday, the actress opened up about her modern honeymoon.

“We just took our honeymoon in the Maldives and we had a big honeymoon over Christmas,” the 46-year-old said.

“So, my new husband and his children, my children, my ex-husband, our best family friends [all went]. It was a very modern honeymoon,” she continued.

“It was great. We had such a good time.”

When Ryan asked how Gwyneth and Chris maintain such a good friendship, Gwyneth admitted that it’s all for the sake of their children, 14-year-old daughter Apple and 12-year-old son Moses.

“We just wanted to minimise the pain for the kids,” she said.

“They just want to see their parents around the dinner table, basically, so we try to keep that.”

It’s not the first time Gwyneth has spoken openly about her relationship with her ex-husband.

In January last year, the Goop founder said Chris had become “like a brother” to her.

“We’re still very much like a family, even though we don’t have a romantic relationship. He’s like my brother,” she told Glamour magazine.

The actress also told Marie Claire Australia that she believes they’re better as friends.

“I think we are better as friends than we were [married]. We are very close and supportive of one another,” she told the publication.

Take a quick look at Gwyneth’s Instagram page and the evidence of her amicable friendship with Chris is clear.

Over Christmas, the actress hung a Christmas stocking for Chris at her home alongside her children’s stockings.

In recent years, Gwyneth has travelled the world with her two children to catch Chris in concert with his band Coldplay.

Gwyneth and Chris have also taken their children on multiple family trips together, including a trip to Disneyland for their daughter’s 12th birthday.

Chris also appears to maintain a friendly relationship with Gwyneth’s husband, Brad, who he has met several times.
