10 women share how they're decorating their homes this Christmas.

We've finally made it to December, and you know what that means.

It's officially socially acceptable to blast festive tunes and spend far too much money on gifts in the name of Christmas spirit.

Oh, and there's one more thing.

Our homes are getting an overdue makeover aided by evergreen trees, stockings, and fairy lights.

Watch: The things mums never say at Christmas. Post continues below.

The festive season is a whole vibe, and we can't get enough of it.

So, we thought we'd ask the Mamamia community how they're getting their homes ready for Christmas this year.

From mini-potted trees to an outdoor lighting set-up to rival the whole street, here's what they had to say:

Brooke

"We've decorated a cheap and cheerful Kmart tree with a white and gold theme, and a few years ago, we started a 'fun element' tradition. Everyone buys a funny/silly ornament from Typo that reflects the year or their personality.

"This year, we got a gamer Santa, a grinch and a polar bear."

"A little less picturesque, maybe. We have had a Norfolk pine for a few years and we love it."

"We've just got a tree and wreath on the front door. We put the tree up weeks ago due to FIFO life. Fitting in as much Christmas as we can!"

"I have burnt forearms but it was well worth it."

"We are in the process of moving so it's a bit hectic in our house, but I put together a quick movable advent calendar Christmas tree.

"We have a blended family here, so the kids get a bunch of calendar days each time they are over!"

"We learned that taking an excitable and adventuring two-year-old to the Christmas Tree farm was a questionable decision as he ran off numerous times (of course!), but we found our tree and attempted to decorate together with limited success.

"We got distracted and had fun with our singing and dancing toy collection, which my husband and I have been working on for the last 10 years.

"I decorated while he was at daycare today. We're very excited to be celebrating our first Christmas in our new home which has been several years in the planning and building, and it's our five-month-old's first Christmas too.

"I was keen to get a potted growing tree for environmental reasons but my husband talked me into a real chopped down one this last time, as the first in this house."
