My name is Annaliese, and I have an unhealthy obsession with sets.

All sets, really, but specifically, the Canadian Tuxedo. If you aren't familiar with the term, it's just a fancy way of saying denim-on-denim.

It used to be a major fashion faux pas (sorry, 2001 Britney and Justin), but in 2026? They are in their resurgence era and are everywhere. It was hard to present only 15 other options (below).

A matching set makes you look instantly put together. It's effortless, it's edgy, and it says, "I understood the assignment."

When I walked past Leigh Campbell in the office wearing my latest denim set find, she said, and I am not kidding, "That is the chicest outfit I've seen you wear."

The whole set cost $69. Yes, you read that right. Some stores have already sold out of the jeans! So change your store location to grab yourself a pair while you still can.

A few reasons why I'm loving this set right now:

The denim shirt (or shacket) has that perfect oversized, drop-shoulder vibe. It looks like you borrowed it from a very stylish boyfriend, but it's actually tailored to fit a woman's frame.

It's structured enough that you don't look like you're wearing a tent, but roomy enough for a knit underneath.

But the diamante detailing is what makes it a look. It's just enough sparkle to feel elevated for Friday night drinks, but not so much that you look like a walking disco ball at the grocery store. It's "cool girl" sparkle.

The matching jeans have a really relaxed, wide-leg fit, a silhouette that is very much "on trend" right now.

And can we talk about the fact that the diamantes are only on the front? It's genius. You get all the sparkle when you walk into a room, but you aren't sitting on scratchy jewels all day.

It comes in sizes 6 to 20 and is proper cotton twill denim; it's sturdy and has weight to it. I usually wear a size 10, but I sized up to a 12 in both pieces.

Darker denim and black dyes tend to shrink the fabric fibres more than light washes, so they almost always feel tighter. Because it's designed to fade, it's only going to look better and more "lived-in" the more you wear it.

Going up a size gives you that perfectly relaxed, "cool girl" fit without the waistband digging in after lunch.

My favourite thing about matching sets is the versatility. You can wear them together for a high-impact look, or break them up to create a whole heap of other outfits. At $30 for the top and $39 for the jeans, the math is truly mathing.
