Girlhood is so back and you know the drill.
You start a new, delightfully swoon-worthy, unapologetically smutty show, and within 48 hours, your TikTok algorithm is filled with fan edits. You are aggressively texting extensive character theories to your group chat in the middle of the night and following all of the cast's Instagram pages.
We are currently living through a golden age of romance adaptations, from the delicious tension of Heated Rivalry to Elle Kennedy's incredible Off Campus universe.
But while we came for the swoon-worthy vibes, let's be real about what's actually keeping us fed: the men.
Watch: Off Campus Boys Interview: The Scenes They're Most Excited For. Article continues after video.
Lately, Hollywood men are actually trying, and it is a beautiful thing to witness. We are seeing them on red carpets doing the absolute most, from fancy brooches and chaotic press-tour antics to those little glasses we love so much.
But if we are talking about the true, make-or-break variable of modern heartthrob status, it is, indisputably, THE HAIR.
Let's establish a universal truth: a boy can be cute, he can be well-dressed, and he can have a charming smile, but if he is not expertly weaponising his hair, he will not break through the cultural zeitgeist.
Think about the blueprint. We are talking about the historical weight of that one iconic Zayn Malik curl falling perfectly over his forehead, or those 90s Leonardo DiCaprio locks shaking out of his eyes in Romeo + Juliet.
You can be in a hit TV show that goes viral around the world — but it's what happens next, on red carpets, in photo shoots, that makes all the difference on your journey to superstardom.
As Fleabag would say, hair is everything.

If you have found yourself blushing at a screen recently, you probably owe a personal thank-you letter to Aika Flores.
Aika is the mastermind hairstylist and skin specialist to the stars, currently responsible for sculpting the hair of the internet's favourite boys. She is quite literally flying around the world, armed with texturising spray and a dream, ensuring these boys look devastatingly handsome at all times.
What this woman does is an absolute art form in itself.
While she's worked with a bunch of the biggest stars in Hollywood, it's no doubt her work with Heated Rivalry's Hudson Williams that has catapulted her to legend status with fandoms.
She's the genius behind Hudson's' iconic looks — from his Wonderland magazine spread to his Golden Globes appearance. Every single time you've seen Hudson and marvelled at his perfectly tousled locks, she's been behind the scenes with her toolkit.
And now she's even taken on the Off Campus boys, because she understands the assignment down to the millimetre.
She's responsible for styling Belmont Cameli — the lead of Off Campus and the man taking over our hearts — across red carpet events and photo shoots. And, more recently, she also styled Antonio Cipriano for the Boys by Girls cover.
She gave us the absolute gift of Lewis Pullman's modern makeover, and her resume reads like a VIP list of internet crushes, including Lee Pace, Jon Hamm, and even The Jonas Brothers.
Every look that Aika creates is imbued with that precise, messy-but-calculated, touchable texture that turns a regular actor into a total phenomenon.
In a world that can be exhausting, the sheer, unadulterated joy of hyper-fixating on a fictional boy with excellent hair is a form of self-care.
So, the next time you find yourself pausing a fan edit to admire a perfectly placed curtain bang, or swooning over a red carpet premiere, remember the architect behind the magic.
Aika Flores is on the front lines, fighting the good fight, and keeping fandoms alive one blowout at a time. We thank you for your service, Aika.
