Kim Kardashian may have broken the Internet, but her sister Khloé has pissed it off.

Khloé posted a photo on Instagram yesterday, in the middle of a trip to Dubai.

In the selfie she is wearing a niqab, a traditional Muslim headdress that only reveals the eyes.

She captioned it with ‘Habibi Love’. Habibi is an Arabic word meaning ‘my love’ or ‘my darling’. Some commenters wondered perhaps she had meant to write ‘Hijab’, the name for the traditional Muslim headscarf. More Kardashian Kraziness: Khloe cracked a joke about the KKK. Didn’t go down well… obviously. As usual, the Internet has a lot to say. One commenter wrote “I have never been more offended in my whole entire life. My sister wears the niqab and she gets vilified daily. You can wear it and it gets sexualised and praised. I am deeply offended and was a fan of yours, I am disgusted.” Women visiting Dubai are not expected to wear the niqab, but Khloé chose to wear one (either out of respect or for the selfie opportunities, or both).    

On the flip side, some of the Muslim community are thanking her for respecting their culture and bringing the niqab into the spotlight. The photo on Instagram has over 30,000 comments arguing both sides.
