It's the end of an era. The famous Coyote Ugly bar is closing its doors.

Can’t fight how much we loved this movie.

Bad news, Coyote Ugly fans. Your chance to visit the bar which inspired the 2000 film has come and gone.

After 23 years the iconic dive bar ‘Hogs and Heifers’ – which is located in New York City’s Meatpacking District – is shutting its doors for the final time.

Hogs and Heifers was famously the inspiration behind 2000’s Coyote Ugly and has seen bartenders and celebrities such as Julia Roberts dancing on its bar.

The bar’s owner Michelle Dell told NBC that skyrocketing rent has forced her out of business, claiming rent has jumped from $14 000 to $65 000 a month. Blackbook claims that when the bar first opened in the early ’90s, rent was only $3, 000 a month.

It’s not just fans of the movie that are disappointed by Dell’s decision to close the bar, with the move upsetting many loyal patrons. Jim Pace said the bar was like his family, adding “Theres no reason for it. No reason except greed.”

Coyote Ugly was the 2000 film that brought Adam Garcia into our lives and showed us the benefits of giving up on our dreams and become a bartender/exotic dancer instead (yeah, so maybe we shouldn’t have been watching this stuff…).

It was a (slightly raunchy) coming-of-age classic that still makes us want to get up on a table and dance at a bar while singing completely off-tune LeeAnn Rimes covers.

The main cast included Piper Perabo, Tyra Banks, Maria Bello, Izabella Miko and Bridget Moynahan. But in the 15 years since this ridiculously wonderful movie came out, Lil, Violet, Rachel, Zoe and Cammie have grown up. A lot.

Take a look.
