Yummy Mummy star Maria DiGeronimo has held what was probably the biggest (and only) Versace-themed baby shower Adelaide has ever seen – complete with sonogram balloons.
Tuesday night’s episode of the Channel Seven reality series saw the business owner put on a celebration of all things Donatella Versace – and you know, her impending bundle of joy.
Donning a white and gold sash that read: Mummy To Be, Maria arrived at the festivities in a horse-drawn carriage before lapping up the attention at her party that required “cash-only” presents because her then-unborn daughter already “has everything”.
Listen: According to Clare Stephens…
As mum Margherita explained, money is a passion of Maria’s, “You know when people go on a holiday and collect stamps? Well, Maria collects money.”
Melbourne Yummy Mummies squad Lorinska Merrington, Jane Scandizzo and Rachel Watts were surprised by the extravagance of the event, which took place in a grand function room, and particularly with a balloon featuring an image of Maria’s sonogram.
Maria was over-the-moon with the day, but it only got better when the event was over and – after tallying her earnings – her husband Carlos presented her with his gift.
Carlos led his wife into a room with a spread of $15,000 worth of Versace accessories – including a monogrammed travel bag and giant gold necklace – accompanied by a $7000 “money bouquet” of rolled up $100 bills.
“I know you don’t like flowers, so I got you a bouquet of money,” he said.
Classic.
Last, but not least, Carlos revealed he had booked a room at luxury hotel Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast for their honeymoon. Because of course.
