A Wiggle wedding, that’s what!
After two years of dating, purple Wiggle Lachlan Gillespie and yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins are engaged.
The first female Wiggle, 25, and Gillespie, 29, first met while touring with the original Wiggles line-up in supporting roles such as Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wiggly dancers five years ago.
They began seeing each other about two years ago, soon after they were both added to the official Wiggle band, but kept the romance a secret until earlier this year.
Gillespie proposed to Watkins on Sydney Harbour, then, after securing a positive response, took her to a nearby restaurant where both their families were waiting.
“It was the happiest day of my life,” Gillespie said.
Hear that? It’s the sound of hundreds of thousands of preschool boys’ hearts breaking.
“The average age is about three or four,” Watkins told the Daily Telegraph in February of her most ardent fans.

“And a lot of boys are wearing bows as bow ties to do the proposal – it’s bowtiful really.”
