Gilmore Girls co-stars come clean on what they thought of each other when they first met.

The Gilmore Girls revival is coming on the 25th of November (have you blocked that entire weekend out yet?) and I’m JUST SO EXCITED I CAN’T BREATHE.

If you, like me, are desperately dissecting every piece of Gilmore-related information you can get your hands on, then bring your hands right this way because Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham did an interview with Glamour and spilled some serious beans.

Most importantly, the co-stars reveal what they thought of each other when they very first met about 17 years ago, in a lobby of a hotel in Canada on the way to meet showrunners Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino.

Bledel describes meeting Graham at 18 as “dazzling” (yeah, we can imagine).

“I just remember Lauren was a real professional actress, and this was my first job,” Bledel recalls.

“She had all the poise and confidence and energy of a performer! That was a new thing for me. I didn’t know how to be that yet, so I just remember being a little bit…”

“Overwhelmed,” Graham supplies.

Listen to The Binge discuss all things Gilmore Girls.

When Graham met the actress who was going to play her daughter, she was struck by how alike they looked – and quickly decided that Sherman-Palladino had made an excellent casting call.

“I thought [she was] perfect for the character. Perfect. I thought we hit it off, and I thought that in enough ways, we look alike.”

And despite Bledel’s inexperience, Graham says she took to the gig like a fish to water.

“I was always impressed by how much just natural ability she had from the beginning.”

And when asked what makes Gilmore Girls such an iconic show, and why people care so much, Bledel had the perfect answer.

“[Rory and Lorelai] really compliment one another and are each really distinctly drawn characters in their own right, so you care about both of them as well as what they mean to each other.”

Yes, we do. We really do.
