The pile I am avoiding
I have this place on the floor next to my desk where I chuck stuff. All my stuff. Mail, bills, receipts, things I need to read, things I don’t want to read but know I have to, notes from my kids’ schools, more receipts, more bills……ugh. To give myself the false impression of being organised and in control, I like my desk to be clean – both at the office and at home.
This only works because at both places, I have teetering mounds of crap on the floor.
So.
Today I am finally going through the pile. Even though I would prefer to have another wisdom tooth removed. Even though I don’t have any wisdom teeth left so would have to have an old one put back in and THEN have it removed. Even that would be better than going through this pile. And this is just the home pile.
So big is it, it won’t fit on my desk all at once. It might topple over and crush me under its vast weight. I’m getting through it so very slowly and with such gritted teeth. That’s why I’m writing this post. ANYTHING to avoid finishing the task at hand. Or the task on desk.
What are YOU avoiding at the moment – a task? A conversation? An appointment? Buying a new bra? What do you keep putting off because the thought of it is enough to send you fleeing towards anything that’s not it, anything at all…..
