"She was not just a victim." Warriena Wright's friends have shared an emotional tribute.

A close friend of Warriena Wright has penned an emotional tribute to the 26-year-old, who died after falling from the 14th floor of a Gold Coast apartment building.

Details of the New Zealand tourist’s final hours with Tinder date Gable Totsee, who was been found not guilty of her murder on Friday, have become global news, but for her grieving friends and family she was more than “just a victim“.

“For us Rrie was not just a victim of crime she’s a real person who is loved and missed everyday,” friend Hayley Cason wrote on Facebook.

“She is a dear and beautiful friend who deserves to be remembered for all the good she put out into the world and for all the kind and gentle things she did for her family and friends.

“And most importantly, for all the laughter and joy she brought into our lives with her wild sense of humour.”

Cason wrote the post on behalf of herself, her husband Ben, Wright's family, and another friend Kaitlyn Cooper-Craill.

She thanked the community, police and Crown prosecutors for supporting them throughout the investigation, trial and surrounding media furore.

Since her death in August 2014, Wright's private life has been the subject of intense media scrutiny.
Even just today it was revealed Totsee's current partner had defended him in a private Facebook group accusing her of being an "incredibly intoxicated, self-confessed 'phycho' [sic] drunk".
"As I'm sure you all can appreciate this is a difficult time for all who know and love Rrie, and we thank you for the respect and privacy while we put the pieces of our lives back together," Cason said.
"Although one very important piece has been unfairly taken from us she will forever be remembered and carried in our hearts."
