You've never seen Dame Edna like this before...

Welcome to Mamamia’s art endeavour, the Voulez-Vous Project. Every week we celebrate emerging artists, designers, illustrators, creators and women who knit using their vaginas. (Kidding. Maybe.)

The aim: to make the internet a slightly more beautiful, captivating, or thought-provoking place. To find out more about the Voulez-Vous project, click here. Click here to see all the previous Voulez-Vous posts

This week’s featured artists on the Voulez-Vous project are husband and wife team Luke and Kate Bordessa from Studio Cockatoo, who create beautiful and edgy geometric prints to adorn the home. Their artworks feature iconic figures in history and pop culture, brightly-coloured birds and adorable animals.

“Our philosophy when it comes to design is keep it simple and keep it fresh,” they say.

“We both love geometric form and we found that combining the images with our triangular style gave us a unique look that complemented the designs,” Kate explains. She says that the couple particularly enjoy focussing on portraits of famous figures as, “We wanted to be able to appeal to our customers’ love of these iconic figures, we hope that seeing them in a new and different light would create a sense of nostalgia.”

Ultimately, the team want people to “enjoy a pop of Studio Cockatoo colour in their day and that our bright and fresh designs leave people feeling awesome!”
