In case you needed one, here's just another reason to love Victoria Beckham.

Victoria Beckham ditched her London store opening to fly to New York this week for a very important reason.

Victoria Beckham has delivered a very important, very inspiring speech to the world at the United Nations conference overnight in New York.

The fashion designer took to the stage and told the audience she wants to make a difference.

She was also subsequently made a UN Goodwill Ambassador, which Victoria deemed an honour.

Victoria’s passionate speech revealed she will be working for a UNAIDS campaign.

“It’s taken me to get to 40 to realise I have a responsibility as a woman and as a mother,” she said.

“For some reason people will listen to me. This is the beginning of an incredible journey for me.”

Victoria went on to say she believes every woman in the world has the right to health.

"I have people mentoring me. I am going back to South Africa in a few weeks and then further afield next year. I would do anything for my children and I think every woman has the right to health and every woman has the right to give their children a healthy future."

"Babies should not be born with HIV and ... we cannot give up, we have to keep going."

"I’m a mother, a woman and I want to reach out and help as many women and mothers as I can."

It was already an important day for Victoria - her first designer store opened in London as she was delivering the empowering speech.

Victoria is one of many celebrities standing up for human rights in New York at the moment, with actor Leonardo DiCaprio and actress Emma Watson both being vocal in their beliefs this week.
