Victoria Beckham. Fashion cred?

UPDATE: The Fashion Magazine is reporting that Charlize Theron, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Cameron Diaz are all vying to wear Victoria Beckham’s line to the Oscars come February 26th. Michelle Williams is already a fan, having been snapped wearing the Victoria by Victoria Beckham line several times, most recently to the Oscars luncheon.

The Oscars red carpet is one of the most important events of the awards season, and having an A-List celebrity choose to wear her label to the ceremony is being taken as a sign of Victoria Beckham having made it in the eyes of the fashion crowd.

Fashion cred? It’s a yes for Victoria Beckham. Have a look at this teaser for the short film for her line – Victoria by Victoria Beckham – which is set to debut for Spring (which is our autumn) and will be “more affordable” then her previous designer range.

Here ’tis.

This is what the UK Daily Telegraph has to say about the clip:

Designer, mother-of-four, one-time singer and all-round fashion success story, Victoria Beckham, has released a 20-second teaser for an upcomingshort film to promote her first Victoria by Victoria Beckham collection.

Recruiting the film-maker cum illustrator Quentin Jones, Beckham has created a viral video to showcase her secondary line of ‘girly’ dresses for everyday wear. The range is the ‘more affordable’ half of her growing empire, (though dresses still retail between £500 and £800), and boast less structured and shorter designs with scallop details, fun prints and brighter colours than the mainline.

Late last year, at the British Fashion Awards (otherwise known as the Oscars of the fashion industry) it was Victoria Beckham who walked away with the Designer Brand of the Year prize. It’s kind of a big deal in the fashion world – she had to overcome the likes of Stella McCartney, Tom Ford and Burberry to do so.

Of the award, the former Spice Girl said:”I am overwhelmed. I was really trying to keep it together in the speech without bursting out crying. It means an enormous amount to me. It’s something for the kids to take to school for show-and-tell.”

So let’s see what her collections look like, shall we? These pics are from Victoria’s 2011 and 2012 lines:
