The weirdest facts you absolutely did not know about Donald Trump.

In an era of the Google search and an overload of information, it’s rare for us to not know the things.

Like, who cuts Trump’s hair? And how much does he sleep every night? And also, why do I care?

But as is the innate nature of humans, we’re naturally curious about the minute details of people’s lives.

This, it would seem, are Donald Trump’s minute details.

He doesn’t sleep

Like, at all. Trump said in an interview with Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” that he typically works until midnight or 1am, and then wakes again at 5am to eat, read newspapers and check out television.

If your maths is on point, you’ll have already worked out that in total Trump sleeps about four hours a night. Which could explain the odd angry tweet on Twitter. Or not.

He once created a board game

Because what happens when you have too much money, too much ego, and not enough things to invest both in?

You create your own board game, of course.

Trump is the only presidential candidate with his own board game, titled Trump: The Game. Creative! It’s a Monopoly-like game (because if you’re going to launch a board game, why not pit it against the world’s most successful one) and was launched in 1989.

It was ultimately discontinued after dismal sales and poor reviews. Which probably had nothing to do with the fact it was a Trump-themed board game that tried to complete with Monopoly.

That’s a NO to alcohol or coffee

That’s right. The US president does not drink alcohol or coffee.

Talking to Piers Morgan in 2011, Trump admitted he doesn’t take drugs, drink coffee or alcohol and nor does he smoke.

“I’ve never had drugs. I’ve never had a cigarette and I don’t drink coffee. I have other problems, I guess!” (You don’t say.)

However, Trump went on to explain why he employs such stringent measures on consumption, revealing in 1981 at the age of 43, his brother died of alcoholism.

“I had an older brother named Fred, who was a great guy, a handsome guy – the most handsome guy that you’ve ever seen. He had everything going: he loved flying airplanes, he was a professional pilot. Somewhere along the line, I think he was in college, he started drinking. It got worse and worse. He also smoked a lot.

“He was about 10 years older and he would tell me, ‘Don’t ever smoke, don’t ever drink.’"

Despite the fact he claims to not drink, Trump still introduced Trump Vodka in 2006 which he once described as a "superb product and beautifully packaged". And he'd know because he has... tried it?

In addition, he bought a winery in Virginia in 2011, Trump Vineyard Estates which is now owned by his son Eric.

Oh, and a NO to exercise

Trump doesn't exercise, which isn't at all worrying considering he is the oldest President ever elected to the White House.

According to a report on Axios, Mr Trump's diet is far from fabulous, surviving off chocolate, chips, steaks and Diet Coke. His only fitness activity is thought to be an occasional round of golf.

...and reading too

There's long been rumours that Trump doesn't really read. (Which is perhaps why he wants to sign Executive Orders that continue to be blocked.)

Sensing this habit, Megyn Kelly once asked him what his favourite book was (apart from his own).

Choosing All Quiet on the Western Front, Kelly proceeded to ask what part of the book was his favourite,

“I read passages, I read areas, chapters, I don’t have the time,” Trump said. “When was the last time I watched a baseball game? I’m watching you all the time.”

Right. Of course.

Why we should stop mocking Melania Trump, says Monique Bowley. Post continues after audio.

Who cuts that luscious mane?

According to TV and film hairstylist, Amy Lasch, who worked on the first two seasons of the The Apprentice, she believes someone in Trump's inner circle cuts his hair. Perhaps even Melania.

Talking to the Mirror, Lasch said: “When I looked at the back of his hair I could tell it was not a hairdresser cutting it.

“It was scary. The colour was so inconsistent…. They just coloured the top and did not colour what was underneath properly.

“It was someone in his inner-circle who was cutting and colouring his hair. His wife or maybe his daughter.”

He is a mass germophobe

Trump ain't no fan of shaking hands.

In his 1997 book The Art of the Comeback, he wrote, “One of the curses of American society is the simple act of shaking hands, and the more successful and famous one becomes the worse this terrible custom seems to get. I happen to be a clean hands freak. I feel much better after I thoroughly wash my hands, which I do as much as possible.”

So that's nice, I suppose?
