Three new shows from The Walking Dead universe are coming soon to Stan.

The world was left devastated (or maybe that was just me) when The Walking Dead came to an end last year after 11 seasons of epic storytelling and memorable characters.

But now our souls can finally begin to heal because Stan has confirmed that all three highly anticipated The Walking Dead spin-off shows are coming to their platform with a release schedule that spans 2023 and 2024.

Kicking things off is The Walking Dead: Dead City will premiere June 19, the same day as the U.S.

Set in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan that was long ago cut off from the mainland and is now crawling with both walkers and power-hungry humans (and if you know anything about The Walking Dead, you'll know the latter is the true threat here) this new series follows one of the franchises most compelling pairings, Maggie (played by Lauren Cohan) and Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

After being introduced in season two (although she's so firmly embedded in the series we just consider her an original character at this point) Maggie was the farm girl turned group leader who fell in love with fan-favorite Glen (Steven Yeun) and together they gave viewers one of the most epic love stories in the entire franchise.

Now, without spoiling one of the show's most history-defining moments, for anyone who still needs to get their act together and watch the series, Negan's reign of terror as one of the show's most complex villains culminated in a moment that dealt Maggie a devastating personal blow.

(And left the rest of us never being able to look at a baseball bat without sobbing ever again.)

In the original show's final seasons, Maggie and Negan evolved from long-term enemies to reluctant allies and even fought side by side in the final battle, with Maggie then tearfully acknowledging in the finale episode that even though she was learning to trust Negan, she could never truly forgive him for what he took from her.

It was an ending that truly set up an epic storyline for The Walking Dead: Dead City, as these infamous foes are forced back together in the brutal world of a walker-covered Manhattan.

Next up we see the return of another fan-favourite character, with the new series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus) was one of the few characters created especially for the TV series, rather than originating in the comic book series on which the show is based, and quickly became the cornerstone of the series.

To the point where, over the years if it was even hinted to fans that the crossbow-wielding hero could potentially be killed off, they would threaten to riot in the streets.

In an unexpected plot twist for this series, we will see Daryl, who had previously never set foot outside of his home state of Georgia, being washed ashore in France and then struggling to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. The series also stars Clémence Poésy (The Essex Serpent) and Adam Nagaitis (Red Rose).

Finally, we have confirmation of the series that fans of been clamouring to see since season nine, when Rick Grimes, the man whose story we had been following since the opening scene of The Walking Dead and was seemingly killed when he blew up a bridge in order to prevent a hoard of walkers from crushing his home of Alexandria.

Of course, viewers always knew Rick was actually alive and unable to return to his family, and in this new series, we will finally get to see him reunite with Michonne (played by Danai Gurira), who took off after him in season 10 after learning he hadn't died on the bridge that day, before he even knew she was pregnant with their son.

This new series, currently called the untitled Rick and Michonne series will debut in 2024 and it's already safe to say it will be one of the biggest shows of the year.

The brand new series The Walking Dead: Dead City will premiere June 19, same day as the U.S., only on Stan.
