Welcome to Mamamia’s art endeavour, the Voulez-Vous Project. Every week we celebrate emerging artists, designers, illustrators, creators and women who knit using their vaginas. (Kidding. Maybe.)

The aim: to make the internet a slightly more beautiful, captivating, or thought-provoking place. To find out more about the Voulez-Vous project, click here.

This week Mamamia is featuring Peaches and Keen (also known as Lily Daley and Lucy Hearn), a Melbourne-based art duo, who transform their love of all things brightly coloured into one-off items; they’ve made everything from jewellery to prints and more.

“A key element to our work is that everything we produce is handmade,” they tell us. “Once we feel we are no longer enjoying making something because it feels repetitive or mass-produced, we look for a new avenue, or our work naturally evolves.”

Lucy studied metalwork, focusing on gold and silver, and Lily graphic design. You can see these different skill-sets pretty clearly in their finished objects. They love experimenting and learning new techniques. But their biggest objective comes from the heart:

“From the beginning, we have had the ethos that we want to produce work that makes people smile. It’s simple but we think it’s important.”

If you’d like to see more from Peaches + Keen (or consider purchasing their work), you can visit their website, online store or Instagram.
