The Veronicas' Lisa Origliasso got married and her dress is a vintage-lover's dream.

Lisa Origliasso married her long-term partner at the weekend – and has given a first glimpse at her wedding dress, which was inspired by a prominent historical figure.

The Veronicas singer wed US actor Logan Huffman at a property on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and has shared with Vogue Brides Australia the first look at her wedding dress.

Lisa said when she and her stylist Fleur Egan were looking for gowns they each had a controversial bride in mind: Wallis Simpson.

Wallis is famously the woman Edward VIII gave up his British royal throne for when they wed in 1937. And while it’s a romantic tale, she wasn’t the most well-liked woman at the time.

However, the bride added that her J’Aton Couture gown was also inspired by everything from her heritage to the Victorian era.

The result, she said, was that the “dress became something that not even I could have imagined in my wildest dreams”.

“For my wedding dress I wanted to embody the romance period of the Victorian era, yet still have the forward graces of the ‘30s and ‘40s,” the 33-year-old said.

“Inspired by my heritage from the old countries, my French and Italian ancestries played a big part in choosing the fabrics and intricate details of my veil and accessories.”

Lisa completed the look with vintage leather gloves and headpiece made of "intricate leather flowers".

And in case you were wondering, yes, her sister Jessica was her bridesmaid.

Lisa and Logan celebrated their engagement with friends in April. The backyard party was complete with a burning ritual.
