Eight years ago, Alison Braun captured Australia’s attention with her transformation on season three of The Biggest Loser .
Once the show ended, the 43-year-old kept up with her health and fitness and in 2009 decided to have surgery to “fix” her breasts, after dramatic weight loss had changed the look and feel of them.

Fast forward to 2016 and Braun recently found herself back in surgery to remove what turned out to be 'toxic' implants, a frightening experience she shared on social media.
"One year after coming off the show I decided to have surgery to fix my breast. Basically after breast feeding three children and losing nearly 60 kilograms they were just little sacks of skin with a nipple and no matter how much I trained or ate right they were never going to get better," the motivational speaker wrote on Instagram.
"I was humiliated and embarrassed with the way I looked and didn't feel like a woman. So I made the choice to fix it."
The implants Braun received were the French-manufactured PIP implants that were later found to be toxic and recalled in 2010 for containing unapproved materials that rendered them unsafe.
Braun said she had put the surgery to remove them off for four years purely out of fear.
"Today I was consumed with fear beyond words, my fear had nothing to do what I might look like, the fear was that I'm consciously having someone put me to sleep and I may not wake up," she continued.
"I'm the only parent my children have left so the fear of no longer being there for them for the sake of just boobs completely consumed me."
Fortunately all went well and Braun left hospital healthy and safe.
"This past two weeks when I have been mentally struggling I have been very blessed to have friends that have loved me and cared for me. It's little moments like this that highlight what is important in life," she wrote.
"I'm the richest woman in the world, rich with love. Thank you for all your support."
