It's great to endorse positive body image. But it's even better to actually do something about it.

Here at Mamamia, we’re pretty big on body acceptance. No matter one’s size, shape or weight, we believe that every person should love what they see in the mirror and adore their body for what it can do rather than what it can’t.

But we also know this is easier said than done.

That’s why we’re so impressed when anyone at all goes above and beyond to actively make a difference.

Taryn Brumfitt, our Body Image Contributor, is one of those people.

From the first time we saw Taryn’s non-traditional before and after photo, we knew she’s one to watch.

Taryn’s had her fair share of body woes, once even training for a body-building contest to try to look more ‘perfect’. But all it did was teach her a valuable lesson: happiness doesn’t come from a number on the scales.

To share her belief with others, Taryn single-handedly founded the Body Image Movement, a global campaign to teach women the value and power of loving their bodies from the inside out.

And together with her now over 50,000 fans on social media, she has spent the last month on a mission. A mission to fund a documentary, Embrace, to unite women in loving their bodies.

Check out the trailer here:

She’s even been joined in her efforts by celebrities, including Ashton Kutcher, Perez Hilton, Rosie O’ Donnell and Ricki Lake.

Taryn’s initial goal of raising $200,000 has been smashed out of the park. She’s now raised more than $250,000 and with 36 days to go, we can only image that number is going to continue to grow.

And we couldn’t be happier about that news.

This right here is the exact moment Taryn’s dream of creating Embrace became a reality:

Congratulations Taryn! We couldn’t be more thrilled for you and can’t wait to see Embrace on the big screen.
