Things got a little awkward during the ‘Cash Cow’ segment on Channel 7’s Sunrise this morning.
In this popular competition segment, Sunrise viewers are asked to look out for the daily code word. Registering their details along with the code word enables viewers to enter the draw to win a cash jackpot. If they are selected from the draw, the Sunrise team telephone them. If the viewer answers within three rings, the money is theirs.
But the Sunrise panel were noticeably shocked this morning when the lucky winner answered the phone with the slogan of rival program Today’s cash giveaway competition.
“I woke up with Today!” John Brewer from Albury, New South Wales announced when he answered the phone.
The entire Sunrise panel cringed before bursting into fits of laughter. All except co-host David Koch who was immediately offended. Even the Cash Cow mascot danced about and seemed annoyed.

That's twice that ahole has done that. Give him the sack
lol
This pretty much confirms my belief that the two shows are equally sh*t and that I'm not the only one who thinks that the only people who know the difference between them are the people actually hosting day to day.
Exactly.
Yeah they pretty much have the same format. I like to watch something for about 10 to 15 minutes in the morning whilst I have my breakfast, so I flick from one to the other (some days I work later so flick from those two to the Channel 10 show). I have no idea what any of these shows are called even though I have been doing this for years! I just want something light so I'm not tempted to get to into a show before I'm due at work, but I find they all pretty much have the same format and the type of things they show don't really grab me and it seems like the news takes up nearly all the time. For instance news/sports at 8 to 8:15, then again from 8:30. I really would prefer something with a variety style with minimal daily news, but even when they don't have news it seems like they have something boring on like they go to a park and talk to the kids and parents about some lame local day or something.
The only thing I actually like is the Mixed Grill type bit where they talk about the latest topics and they debate what they think about gay marriage, refugees or anything else that is topical, but that bit only seems to go for a short time.
Someone suggested ABC, but I didn't find that much better.
I actually like most of the presenters on all of the shows, though one or two I find a bit annoying, but it is just mainly the format of them I find boring. But horses for courses, maybe other people love what they offer, but I do wish at least one did something a bit different. Admittedly Ch 10's format is a bit better I think because they rarely go from the studio (I don't know why but I just find the out of the studio stuff tedious), but I don't really take to some of their presenters as much as I do the other channels.
