The Stan Original Film Christmas Ransom, which premieres on Stan on December 1, is set to be your family’s new favourite holiday movie.

Created by the same team that brought usA Sunburnt Christmasin 2020, the film stars Matt Okine (Stan Original SeriesThe Other Guy), Logie Award winner Miranda Tapsell (Top End Wedding), and Ed Oxenbould (Stan Original SeriesBloom).

The Aussie comedy, which was inspired by family favourites such asHome Alone, Die Hard,andElf, is set in a toy store called Harrington and Sons.

The adventure begins when the store is hijacked on Christmas Eve by a pair of bumbling criminals, who hold the store's struggling owner (Matt Okine) for ransom.

When a pair of shoplifting kids - played by newcomers Evan Stanhope (Thor: Love and Thunder) and Tahlia Sturzaker (I Am Mother) - stumble into the heist, they team up with heavily pregnant security officer Gladys (Miranda Tapsell) to save Christmas.

What follows is a hilarious,Home Aloneinspired adventure as Gladys and the shoplifting kids attempt to take on the bad guys by turning toys into weapons.

Alongside Matt Okine, Miranda Tapsell and Ex Oxenbould, the film also stars Genevieve Lemon (Stan Original SeriesThe Tourist), Bridie McKim (Stan Original SeriesBump), and Chai Hansen (The Newsreader).

There's also a special appearance fromThe BachelorstarMatty J, who appears to play a firefighter in the comedy.

The soon-to-be Christmas classic is created and executive produced by Drew Grove, Fiona Eagger, Deb Cox, and Mike Jones, who all worked onA Sunburnt Christmas,directed by Adele Vuko (Skitbox), and produced by Naomi Just (The Unusual Suspects).

The film was written by Elliot Vella, Gretel Vella and Timothy Walker (A Sunburnt Christmas) and produced by Every Cloud Productions (a Global City Group company), the creators of the award-winning Stan Original FilmA Sunburnt Christmasand the Stan Original SeriesEden.

The Stan Original Film Christmas Ransom is Stan's third Christmas film.
