
Sorry is not always the hardest word. For some of us, it slips constantly out of our mouths. But why? Lorraine Candy is Editor-in-Chief of fashion magazine Elle and a mum to three young children. I know her from when she was the editor of UK Cosmo, before she had children. We hung out together at a couple of Cosmo conferences and I liked her very much.

And I open up Lorraine’s question to you – Why are we so defensive about our choices? Why do we constantly apologise for our children? Our partners? Our inability to cook (hello, that’s me)? Sorry, but why are we always saying sorry?
