The last thing anyone expects when they pop the question to the love of their life is to be embroiled in a bitter business dispute.
Yet that’s exactly what’s happened toThe Bachelorcouple Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski.
Sam proposed to Snezana – who appeared on the third season of the reality dating show in 2015 – with a $50,000, two-carat diamond last December.
Now, the jeweller who sold Sam the sparkler has gone bankrupt, amassing personal and business debts up to $10 million, The Agereports.
Reports initially suggested the stone used to create Snezana’s ring was one of more than a dozen diamonds jeweller Ronnie Bensimon — who has also designed rings for celebrities like Nicole Trunfio, Pia Miller and Whitney Port — had obtained from diamond dealers who he never paid.
However, the jeweller has since clarified that the ownership of the ring Sam Wood purchased last year is not in question.
“The supplier of the diamond has also been paid in full,” Ron Bensimon confirmed toMamamia.
This means that, thankfully,The Bachelorcouple will get to keep their special ring.
“The liquidation of the company does not affect our customers or their ownership of their purchases. Jewellery is often a very meaningful and personal possession and we hope that this confusion has not caused our customers concern,” Bensimon said.
Bensimon has also rejected the allegations made byThe Agereport.
“We believe the article is a result of a personal issue with an individual who has made a number of untrue accusations. We are currently taking legal action to address these directly,” Bensimon said.
“Our customers and business partners are of utmost importance to us and we recommend anyone with questions or concerns contact us directly.”
