Over the past few years we've seen many sneaker trends come and go.
Colourful Sambas had a major moment, then red trainers swiftly took over — only to be replaced with brown suede.
We've seen 'sneakerinas' sashay onto the scene, Salomon's hiking styles embraced by Gen-Z, and lower-profile options from Puma and Onitsuka Tiger rival the chunky styles we're used to.
Watch: Sometimes the 'wrong shoe' is the right option. Post continues below.
But despite fashion's fickle nature, one thing remains constant: sneakers are a fast-track to lifting your everyday outfit game.
I've always got one eye on the ground to see what cool people are wearing on their feet, both IRL and in the streetstyle images filtering in from fashion weeks across the globe.
As style gets more and more eclectic (just take a look at the outfits from Copenhagen), that vibe is being reflected at a retail level, with an appetite for accessories that incorporate clashing textures and tones.
Think of it as an antidote to the beige overload of the Quiet Luxury era.
The next big sneaker trend is all about embracing this mash-up. Think animal motifs like cowhide and pony hair. Crochet or lace trims on retro coloured trainers. Satin panels, glitter and woven accents. Anything goes, as long as it's not boring.
You can even DIY by adding a pair of bright rope laces or a satin ribbon to your go-to suede kicks.

As for how to style them, that part's up to you.
It's really a case of the shoes making the outfit, so don't be afraid to lean in to the mismatched aesthetic and pile on other statement pieces, or keep your base clean and let the sneakers shine.
