Falls Festival Marion Bay: Police investigate reports of three sexual assaults.

Tasmania Police are investigating three complaints of sexual assault at the Falls Festival at Marion Bay.

Police said two incidents occurred in the mosh pit area of the festival, being held about an hour’s drive from Hobart.

A young girl was assaulted on Thursday night during DJ Hot Dub Time Machine and another during hip-hop artist Illy’s performance.

A third incident in the camping grounds on Thursday night was reported.

Inspector Doug Rossiter said the victims had received counselling and he urged patrons to stay with their friends at all times.

“The best thing you can do is to stay with your friends at all times and look out for each other,” he said.

“If you become isolated and feel unsafe at any time, go straight to the nearest police officer, security guard and talk to them.”

Police would like to hear from any person who may have witnessed any of the incidents or have any information that might assist the investigation.

It follows an incident at the Lorne Falls Festival where up to 80 people were injured during a stampede.
