FormerBachelorettecontestant Sasha Mielczarek has spoken for the first time about his relationship with Sam Frost, which ended in December last year after 18 months together.

The pair met on Australia’s first season ofThe Bachelorettein 2015.

“Sam and I fell in love. And I still love her. She’s an amazing person,” the 31-year-old construction manager from the NSW South Coast told Who.

“And now here I am on my own!”

At the same time he was grieving the relationship’s end, Mielczarek’s grandmother also passed very suddenly. “It’s been a pretty tough couple of months,” he said.

Mielczarek confirmed the split was amicable, but said he “hadn’t really spoken” to Frost, 27, since they parted.

He denied rumours he and Frost only stayed together for post-Bachelorette contractual reasons. He also quashed speculation he was in a new relationship.

The joint statement released by the couple on December, 27 last year said they “wholeheartedly respect and cherish the friendship they have for one another”.

With the help of friends and family, including fellowThe Bachelorettecontestant Dave Billsborrow, Mielczarek toldWhohe was slowly shaking the heart break. “I’m feeling much better,” he said.
