No charges for Modern Family star's Sydney "groper".

The man who “groped” Sarah Hyland in Sydney walks free.

The 29 year old man, who cannot be names for legal reasons, was charged on 20 February 2014 after he allegedly “grabbed hold of [Modern Family star, Sarah Hyland‘s] left buttock and squeezed” while the pair posed for a photograph.

News of the assault went around the world and tainted the popular sitcom’s appearance in Australia.

Today, according to the Daily Telegraph, the assault was dealt with under the Mental Health Act and the charge was dismissed with the man having no criminal conviction recorded. He was ordered to comply with a treatment plan. He was accompanied to Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court by his mum and a representative from the Intellectual Disability Rights Service.

After the incident, Hyland reported pushed the man away, screamed "Don't touch me there!" before her security stepped in. She left the Qantas party at Sydney's Sebel Pier One via the backdoor in tears.

She later explained her exit to fans via Twitter:
