Ryan Reynolds opens up about his parenting stress and worries.

If you have kids, you’ll know parenthood brings incredible joy – along with moments of sheer terror.

And in that department, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds is no different to any other rookie parent.

He recently spoke to Men’s Health about his irrational fears for his one-year-old daughter, James.

“I still check on her in the middle of the night and put my fingers under her nose just to make sure she’s still breathing,” he said. “Is that insane? I feel like it might be a little bit insane.”

Nope, not insane, Ryan - just a sign you're a normal, loving dad.

The 39-year-old, who married Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively in 2012, also spoke honestly - and hilariously - about the crushing exhaustion new parents often face.

“During those first six months, it’s amazing that you find a way to keep going,” the Deadpool star said.

“Just the lack of sleep, and the hallucinations. F— peyote. You want to trip balls? Have a kid and see what it’s like to be awake for a month straight.

"You’ll have moments where you’re like, ‘Did I really ride a unicorn to work? I’m pretty sure I didn’t, but I don’t know.”

Yep - parenthood is not a job for the faint-hearted. Right, Ryan?
