America just discovered Ruby Rose. Cast her in a HUGE role.

RUBY ROSE IS THE NEW BLACK.

The 28-year-old model/DJ just scored a starring role on the crazy-good TV show ‘Orange is the New Black’ on HBO. With actress Yael Stone, Ruby’s now the second Aussie actress on set for OITNB. With its fast-growing cult following, no doubt soon the US will be trying to claim Ruby as one of their own.

Here’s Ruby’s offensively beautiful face, as it will appear on television screens around the world.

Rose announced in the latest issue of Elle magazine that she will be playing “an inmate at Litchfield Federal Correctional Institution”. And apparently her character’s “sarcastic sense of humor and captivating good looks quickly draw the attention of some of Litchfield’s inmates,” too.

Here’s the current cast of the runaway hit show, which is about that blonde chick in the orange jumpsuit there being sent to prison and having to deal with the frankly crazy shit that goes down there.

The inmates who, ummm, notice Rose’s character, Stella, are actually the leading ladies of the show — Piper Chapman (orange jumpsuit chick) and her jilted ex lover Alex Vause (the one with black hair to Piper’s left, played by the girl from That 70s Show).

“Ruby Rose, 28,” Elle says, “oozes raw sex appeal even in an orange jumpsuit, as the newest inmate–and lust object of both Piper and Alex–at Litchfield Penitentiary on this summer’s third season of Orange Is the New Black.”

And well, we do have to admit she certainly looks the part. Ruby teased us all earlier this year, posting this pic to Insta of the similarities between herself, her fiancée Phoebe Dahl, and season one’s “Trisha”.

Her addition to the cast is a huge deal given that Rose is bisexual and vocal LGBT activist, currently engaged to Phoebe Dahl, and the show has been applauded by critics as one of the most groundbreaking TV shows for lesbians and women in history.

She said earlier this year: “I am very gender fluid and feel more like I wake every day sort of gender neutral.”

Here’s Ruby just casually chilling with the OITNB cast, like it’s no big deal:

OITNB is most likely coming to Australia via Netflix…… Get on it.
