Roxy Jacenko is facing her first Christmas with her husband behind bars.

Roxy Jacenko and her two young children are facing a very different Christmas this year.

There will be no tree, no big family celebration, no Dad at the dinner table.

The PR mogul’s husband, Oliver Curtis, was jailed for two years in June for insider trading, just two weeks before she was diagnosed with breast cancer – a combination that made for a “tumultuous” 2016.

“My mum said to me the other day, ‘I think I’m going to go and get a Christmas tree.’ And I said, ‘You can’t, because I told Pixie and Hunter their father would be home for Christmas’,” Jacenko told Who.

“It was so far away then… Now, here we are.”

Instead of the usual festive fanfare, the 25th will consist of a low-key lunch at a friend’s house then a trip to Hawaii on Boxing Day. (Post continues after gallery.)

“It will be nice to have a break,” said the Sweaty Betty founder.

“I can actually take a moment to not look at my emails every three seconds. I might look at them every 30 seconds.”

While there are few who would dismiss the challenges Jacenko has faced this year, she argues they’re “small” compared to what many people go through.

“I’m lucky,” she told Who.

“I have an amazing support network, my mum is brilliant, my children are a joy to be around and my business is thriving.

“So I got cancer, and so my husband went to jail, but that’s life.”
