Rihanna has responded to the commentary surrounding her fluctuating weight.

In news that shouldn’t matter, the Internet is currently obsessed with Rihanna’s supposed ‘weight gain’.

While many are praising her for not conforming to the unrealistic body standards female celebrities are held to, others who aren’t worth mentioning haven’t been so positive.

The Grammy winning singer and performer has responded to critics of her fluctuating weight (something that is totally and completely human, by the way) in the most 2017 way – with a meme.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday to let her feelings be known, Rihanna shared this split image of rapper Gucci Mane to address her body-shamers.

The meme, which the singer captioned with a *tear emoji* is titled, ‘If you can’t handle me at my 2007 Gucci Mane, you don’t deserve me at my 2017 Gucci Mane’.

Thankfully, for every body-shamer who has a problem with a female celebrity’s weight, there are hundreds of Rihanna fans who love her at any shape or size.

“You’re great at a size 2 or 13,” commented one fan, “Regardless of the reason, I just hope your mind is healthy, that’s really what matters!!”

And summing up our thoughts exactly, another wrote, “Your size does not define you @badgalriri I’m a fan all day, everyday. No one can take your crown unless you give it to them.”

Is it ever OK to talk about a woman’s weight?
