Australia’s own pop diva, Ricki-Lee Coulter, has stood up for freckled beauties everywhere after she was trolled about her skin.

Ricki-Lee, 29, posted a beautiful, fresh-faced selfie (above) to her Facebook and Instagram accounts, showing her naturally freckled face.

“When I was a little girl I hated my freckles but one day my Pop told me they were just a whole lot of beauty spots & that girls with freckles are special. Now I love them,” she wrote.

Sadly, on cue, the trolls began to berate Coulter about her appearance.

“You one ugly b*tch without make up,” and “You are full of sh*t. Freckles are just that and no amount of platitudes will make them sun kisses.”

Known for her outspoken and bold nature, Ricki-Lee didn’t disappoint, and deigned to tell the trolls exactly where to go.

“It makes me so sad that there are people out there that are so miserable in their own lives that they will turn a candid moment and a beautiful memory into something negative and nasty. Please – do me and everyone else here a favour and unlike my page, then go and get yourself a life.”

Bravo, Ricki-Lee.

For many of Coulter’s fans, her candid portrait proved reassuring and uplifting, as they shared their stories of embracing their freckled skin. (Post continues after gallery.)

“My mum used to tell me I was kissed by the sun. And I was so special and so loved that the sun couldn't stop,” wrote Bree.

“Someone told me that a face without freckles is like a sky without stars! I love my freckles,” shared Vanessa.

Another supporter, Amber, shared a touching family story. “I was always told that my freckles were from everyplace my Nan kissed me as a baby - they meant I love you.”

We love how Ricki-Lee turned a bad situation into an opportunity for her fans to celebrate their gorgeous, diverse skin. And trolls? You heard the lady: get a life.

Do you have freckles?
