We've just figured out how Rebecca Judd chooses her baby names.

It’s rarely easy to decide what to name your child. There are so many options and so many places to take inspiration from, be it celebrities, flowers, book characters… or even fruit.

So when we heard Rebecca Judd and husband Chris had named their newborn twin boys Tom and Darcy, we were curious as to what had inspired their names.

Then it hit us: Rebecca Judd is an Offspring fan. Of course.

Think about it: the TV presenter already has two-year-old Billie (the name of Nina Proudman’s sister), and now she’s added a Darcy (the name of Nina’s non-biological dad) to her family.

There was even a brief love interest of Nina’s in the fifth season named Thomas.

Heehee- they are definitely boys. Darcy on the left, Tom on the right.

“A baseless theory!” we hear you say. (After all, there’s nobody named Oscar in the Channel 10 series.)

However, the 33-year-old has mentioned Offspring on her blog Rebecca Judd Loves, meaning she has at least watched the show. (But then who hasn’t?)

“Julia styled the gorgeous Kip and Co campaign that you all went gaga over on this very blog (here) and my Instagram page, and for all of you Offspring fans out there, Julia was responsible for thoughtfully creating Nina Proudman’s house- is there anything she can’t do?” she wrote about interior designer Julia Green.

See? See? It’s a rock-solid* theory, if we do say so ourselves.

Want to know how Bec Judd juggles her busy life? She explains all on our I Don’t Know How She Does It podcast:

Besides, the Melbourne parents would not be first to name their children after TV characters.

If the Judds plan to have any more, ahem, offspring, we have some baby name suggestions for them.

Patrick is a solid name and also works well in its nickname form of Paddy – but then there’s already quite a well-known person in the AFL world with that name, so maybe not.

Zara Judd has quite a nice ring to it, as does Jimmy Judd.

And who could pass by the name of the show’s heroine, Nina?

Old-fashioned names are making a comeback and we think a baby Nina would fit right in to the Judd’s brood of bubs.

However, given Bec has said she and Chris were not even sure they were going to have a third child – let alone a forth – Darcy might be the last Proudman-inspired baby to join the Judd family.

* In case you didn’t pick up on it, we are joking. Of course. Congratulations Rebecca and Chris.
