The moment that forced the Real Housewives of Sydney to become friends instead of enemies.

You know how the saying goes.

If you want to get to know somebody, go on a holiday with them. And that’s exactly what happened when the cast of Real Housewives of Sydney were forced to travel together for the show.

So far we’ve only seen episodes 1-3 and the girls haven’t travelled further than Coogee and the Northern Beaches, which for Victoria Rees is like going interstate.

The cast of Real Housewives of Sydney include businesswoman Lisa Oldfield, artist and astro-traveller Athena X, Bondi Junction lady-about-town Victoria Rees, former Miss World runner up Nicole O’Neil, actress and singer Melissa Tzautz, real estate agent Krissy Marsh and cosmetic nurse Matty Samaei.

So far it's been pretty much what you'd expect from a season of any of the Real Housewives franchises with fights over capes, g-strings and botox.

But in an upcoming episode Lisa Oldfield host all the girls at her holiday retreat at the Whitsundays in Queensland. And that, says Victoria, is when the girls got to know each other properly.

Mamamia Entertainment Editor Laura Brodnik caught up with the cast of Real Housewives of Sydney ahead of the series premiere and Victoria Rees said it was during away trips the cast truly bonded, because they had plenty of time during which they were forced to hang out, with no children or husbands or work commitments to distract them from building their budding friendships.

"We go into each other's rooms at nighttime and we sit up all night chatting," she said.

The girls all nodded along with Victoria's revelation, with Melissa adding, "We got to know each other. You're more dependent on each other. You try to know each other more."

It was a lovely moment actually. It really seemed like they had bonded during travel for the show. But just as that lovely, warm, fuzzy feeling was being shared between the girls, Athena X dropped another clanger.
