If you're staring at a fruit bowl that's seen better days, don't toss it. Before that punnet of berries or lone mango hits the bin, try this "emergency" snack hack instead.

These healthy kids' gummies are a quick, make-ahead snack you can prep for the week… if they last that long.

Not only do they tick off the weekly snack prep, but they're also the ultimate way to use up "tired" fruit. They're healthy, budget-friendly, and — most importantly — require almost zero effort to clean up.

3-Ingredient Leftover Fruit Gummies.

Makes: 20–30 gummies (depending on mould size)

Ingredients:

1 cup berry purée (fresh or frozen berries, blended)

1 tbsp gelatine powder

A squeeze of honey (to taste)

Image: Supplied.

Method:

Blitz the fruit in a blender or food processor.

Add the berry purée to a small saucepan and warm gently over low heat (don't boil).

Stir in the honey.

Sprinkle the gelatine over the mixture and whisk continuously until fully dissolved and smooth.

Remove from heat and pour into silicone moulds or a lined dish.

Refrigerate until set (usually about an hour).

Pop out of moulds and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
