Pop icon Prince’s private jet was forced to make an emergency landing early this morning so the star could be rushed to hospital.
In what has been coined a ‘medical emergency’, the 57-year-old was on a flight from Georgia, USA when he fell ill, forcing the crew to make an unscheduled landing at Quad City International Airport in Illinois.
It is unclear if he has been hospitalised, yet TMZ reports the singer has been ‘fighting the flu’ for several weeks and had cancelled two shows on April 7th.

Conflicting sources told TMZ the Purple Rain singer was "not doing well", another said he had been treated and released.
Prince had performed a show in Atlanta on Thursday night, just hours before he boarded his flight.
Fans have taken to Twitter to send Prince their support.
